Yamaguchi | Cherry Blossoms in Tokiwa Park

A large scenic park listed as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots

Known as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Tokiwa Park is also on the list of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. The park is especially stunning in spring, when its 3,500 cherry trees are in full bloom and the trees are lit up at night, creating a surreal, dreamlike atmosphere. The Sakura Festival is also held in the same period, attracting crowds of visitors from home and abroad every year. Tokiwa Park features approximately 3,100 yoshino cherry trees, 300 yaezakura, 30 wild cherry trees, 50 kanhi-zakura, 20 weeping cherry trees, 20 mamezakura, 25 kawazu cherry trees and 6 gyoikou. The light-up period is from late March to early April.
