Traditional Geiko Performance

A members-only luxury trip to explore Kyoto's highlights

Watching geisha perform incredibly intricate dances is typically a by-invitation-only privilege few are afforded. It's this kind of highly exclusive experience that Club Concierge Luxury Japan provides for a select group of travelers who are looking for off-market bespoke travel opportunities. For four days during cherry blossom season in April, you can discover the old capital, Kyoto, as an insider.
The adventure begins with a trip to the Kiyako Odori show, where famous maiko and geiko (also known as geisha) of Gion perform. This seasonal event signals the advent of spring and has been famous across Japan since 1872. Participants have the best seats, with a traditional matcha tea service provide by a geiko. Afterward, there is a spectacular multiple-course Japanese dinner—also attended by geiko—at Maruyama, a renowned restaurant in Gion, Kyoto. The tour continues with visits to the most famous temples in Kyoto, with time to stop and contemplate the beautiful blooming cherry trees from the best viewpoints in the city.
