Enjoy Japan's best rock acts in the open air near Sapporo
The annual Rising Sun Rock Festival is held in Ishikari near Sapporo over a two-day period in August. This Japanese-artist-only festival is the only large-scale festival of its kind in Japan. People of all ages enjoy the laid-back vibe while listening to the nation's best rock bands.

How to Get There
You can get to Ishikari by train and shuttle bus or a drive from Sapporo Station , the nearest major transportation hub.
By train, catch a subway from Sapporo Station to Asabu Station. You can then take a shuttle bus directly to the event area, about 40 minutes. By car, the drive will take around 40 minutes from Sapporo Station .

Listen to good tunes under a starry sky
Enjoy good music all night long while snacking on food from the festival stalls. For an extra fee, you can set up a tent and camp overnight. The sunrise is especially beautiful in this area.
