Michelin-starred cuisine and river and bayside views from open-air hot springs baths
Hakuunsou in Kanagawa Prefecture's Yugawara region has 17 rooms, three of which are standalone villas with saunas and private open-air onsen baths that draw water directly from the hot spring. Called “literature chambers,” these are ideal environments for relaxation, creation and contemplation. Yugawara's forests and the fragrance of the hills will fill your senses, and you can enjoy views of both the Chitose River and Sagami Bay from the baths.
You'll be made to feel immediately at home with a seasonal drink and traditional sweet on arrival. The dinner at Michelin-starred Hakuunsou is Japanese kaiseki cuisine featuring selected ingredients such as fresh seafood from Sagami Bay and locally grown vegetables. The menu changes monthly.
