北海道の支笏洞爺国立公園内にある宝石のように輝く支笏湖はその澄み切った水で広く知られています。実際に10年連続で水質日本1位に輝いています。湖の奥深くまで見渡せるのは日本でも他に例がなく、透明な船底のカヤックツアーで存分に楽しむことができます。

秋には紅葉や産卵期のカエル、紅鮭などを見て楽しむことができます。一方で冬には湖の透明度が最も高くなり、周囲の雪山や湖畔で運がよければちらりと見えることもある野生の鹿やキツネがその素晴らしさに花を添えます。札幌から車で90分弱、または新千歳空港から40分です。
