Hachimantai Visitor Center

Gain a deeper understanding of the Hachimantai area's wildlife and volcanoes

The Hachimantai Visitor Center provides information on local plants and animal species with the aim of fostering an understanding of the natural environment in the Hachimantai area. The center is located across from Onuma Pond—you can explore the pond's bubbling geothermal mud pools along the pond's walking trail.

Inside the visitor center, you can explore various exhibits, including a mud volcano model. The video corner allows visitors to get a glimpse of the Hachimantai area's scenic beautiful nature throughout the four seasons. The center also provides the latest weather updates and information on hiking trails and plant flowering periods.
