Soak in the beauty of a World Natural Heritage site at Iriomote Island with a kayaking trip through the mangroves of the Nishida River, followed by a trek to the Sangara Waterfall. While this tour is for the adventurous, it’s not too physically demanding.
The tour begins with a gentle kayaking adventure along the mangrove-lined Nishida River, where you can catch a glimpse of the wildlife that inhabit the forest. After 30 minutes, you’ll alight at the kayak base station to begin a gentle trek (about 30 minutes) through the forest to the base of the magnificent Sangara Falls. This is a rare waterfall where you can actually walk behind the curtain of water. Spend some time here relaxing and enjoying a leisurely picnic lunch, either at the base of the falls or above it, before returning to base.
This 6-7 hour excursion includes boxed lunches, and children 6 years old and above can join in on the fun. It’s a popular activity for the whole family.
