About the Asahi no Ma Special Exhibition
The Asahi no Ma has been reopened in April of this year after approximately two years of renovations from February 2017. To commemorate this, the “Asahi no Ma Special Exhibition” will be held from Thursday, July 4th to Tuesday, September 10th (event period may be shortened). In this exhibition, visitors will be able to walk on the carpet used in the Asahi no Ma prior to its renovation and see an Érard piano with ties to the Imperial Family, as well as photos from that time. In addition, there will be a display of assorted carpets used in various locations of the State Guest House, where visitors can personally touch and confirm the texture for themselves, and an updated photo guidebook with post-renovation photos of Asahi no Ma, will be made available.
The premises will be open at night from Saturday, August 10th to Monday, August 12th. (The main building will be lit up.)
