Low key luxury in a Japanese Castle town
Nipponia is a luxury hotel brand with some unusual properties. It renovated some of Sasayama’s historic buildings and converted them into immersive hotel experiences. These renovations utilized the talents of local artisans and designers, who paid deep respect to the aesthetic of this undiscovered castle town.
Nipponia has five hotels across Sasayama, each of which reflect a time when the town first prospered due to its proximity to Kyoto. You can book to stay in Sasayama’s oldest house, a renovated former geisha house, or the stylish former residence of a bank owner.
