Reference price JPY 7,900
A night walk on Ishigaki Island

Go on a search for nocturnal creatures unique to the subtropics underneath the starry sky on Ishigaki Island! The island is home to a number of rare animals and plants that are rarely seen on mainland Japan, such as giant coconut crabs, flying foxes, and seasonal rare birds.

Since Ishigaki is also Japan’s first certified Dark Sky Preserve thanks to its exceptional quality of starry nights and nocturnal environment, most places on the island are unlit to preserve this natural planetarium. Therefore, the best way to explore is with a guided night tour where you’ll be equipped with protective clothing such as a life jacket and marine shoes. The guide will take you to a recommended spot where you can enjoy the exceptional starry sky.

This tour is open to everyone, and children from 3 years old can join in the fun. Come and see what Ishigaki Island truly has to offer, and experience the variety of life in the jungle of darkness.
