A Journey to the Heart of Shinto: Craftsmanship, Ritual, and Renewal**

Immerse Yourself in a Spiritual Shinto Journey in Ise-Shima

Immerse yourself in the spirit of Shinto within a tranquil, forest-enclosed campsite designed for quiet reflection and inner renewal. Guided by a Shinto priest and master artisans from Ise Miyachu—an esteemed shrine-tool maker with more than 80 years of history—you will learn the ancient rituals that have shaped the spiritual life of Ise for over two millenia.

The journey begins with a gentle nature walk and a ritual blessing, followed by the rare opportunity to spark an imibi, the sacred flame kindled at Ise Jingu every day of the year. With calm, meditative movements, you will then craft your own shimenawa—the sacred rope that marks purity and sanctity—using traditional techniques passed down over generations. As you weave the rice straw, add shide paper streamers, and brand your finished piece with a mark of completion, you’ll gain insight into the Shinto philosophy of tokowaka, the idea of eternal renewal.

The experience concludes with a serene naorai outdoor lunch, a symbolic sharing of food offered to the gods, inviting you to feel the profound connection between nature, divinity, and daily life.

Thoughtfully designed for guests seeking authenticity and depth, this workshop offers not only a beautiful handcrafted keepsake, but also moments of clarity and contemplation—a chance to discover the harmony, gratitude, and enduring spirit of Japan.
