Tounoya-an, a former ryokan annex constructed in 1933, has been reinvented as a "private boutique hotel" by a renowned designer. Momoyama Gaen, meanwhile, is a 1970s vacation home reborn as a luxurious space themed on the mountains and ocean surrounding Atami as well as Japanese artistic tradition.
