Explore the Seto Inland Sea on a floating hotel dedicated to tranquility

guntû

The Seto Inland Sea, the passageway between Honshu and Shikoku, is dotted with hundreds of islands to explore. guntû is the perfect complement to this beautiful backdrop. This 19-room floating hotel was designed by architect Yasushi Horibe, renowned for his use of natural materials and clean lines to create intimate, tranquil spaces.

The sea is visible from every nook of the boat and referenced in every experience, from the sushi bar to nightly champagne toasts held as the sun sets into the water, to the communal baths in the spa area. Journeys on guntû usually last two or three nights. The ship departs from Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture and roams across the Setouchi region without stopping at any port. Off-ship activities using dedicated speed boats will take you to sleepy villages, where you can enjoy the peace of a morning walk. Resembling a traditional Japanese ryokan, guntû offers guests the perfect setting to relax and unwind.
