Experience kaiseki cuisine at its finest in a Japanese restaurant with a storied past

Kyoto Kitcho

Kyoto Kitcho is a leading ryotei that has been in business for over 90 years. It is one of the most famous Japanese restaurants in the world, and the founder Teiichi Yuki is a pioneer of modern Japanese cuisine, which is imbued with seasonality, and the world view and aesthetics of the tea ceremony.

The main restaurant is located in Arashiyama, Kyoto, an iconic destination with an intrinsically “Japanese” aesthetic. The dishes served are the pinnacle of Japanese cuisine, elegant and innovative while drawing on centuries of tradition. To dine at Kyoto Kitcho is to explore Japanese cuisine with star chefs as your guide, in an exclusive setting catering to the most discerning of diners.

Kunio Tokuoka, the third-generation owner of Kyoto Kitcho, has been invited to numerous summits organized by international food culture organizations to promote Japanese cuisine globally. He has given special lectures at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), served as a guest professor at Japan's largest agricultural university, and prepared banquets at summit meetings for the heads of states and governments.
