Sleek and modern on the outside, the interior of the Shangri-La exudes luxury and timeless style
A one-minute walk from Tokyo Station, this property is the Shangri-La group’s first in Japan and serves as its flagship in this important market. It opened in March 2009, occupying the top 11 stories of the 37-floor Marunouchi Trust Tower Main Building. From this vantage point, it overlooks the city’s central transportation hub, the Marunouchi business district, the Imperial Palace and, further off, the skyscrapers of Shinjuku and the unmistakable profile of Mt. Fuji.
The award-winning hotel has 200 guest rooms and is home to the largest spa in Tokyo. It was designed to incorporate sweeping staircases and twinkling chandeliers, and many who have sampled its pleasures attest that it is also the most eye-catching hotel in the city. More than 2,000 works of art are on display throughout the hotel, while the two main restaurants have both received accolades. Nadaman has turned heads for both its impressive Japanese menu but also for its stunning design, the work of Hong Kong architect Andrew Fu, while Andrea Ferrero works daily culinary magic in his role as executive chef of Piacere.
