Were you able to visit the Visit Japan Pavilion at Travel Madness Expo 2023? The event was held last June 30 to July 2 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The Visit Japan Pavilion provided visitors the chance to learn more about Japan through the co-exhibitors from Japan and various fun activities within. The exhibit was mounted by the Japan National Tourism Organization Manila Office (JNTO) in partnership with several Japanese organizations.

1. The ryokan-inspired display

The Visit Japan Pavilion is modeled after a ryokan (traditional Japanese inn). Inside, the display was filled with activities and booths. Taking photos at the exhibit was highly encouraged!
2. Traditional art- and culture-related activities were available for everyone's enjoyment

Japan’s rich culture is one of its main draws as a travel destination, which is why the Visit Japan Pavilion exhibit featured various traditional art and cultural activities for visitors to try.

Activities included guests having their names written in katakana to personalize their souvenirs, while others dressed up in yukata and posed for pictures within the themed area. A hit with the guests was the art of tea-making workshop by Teavolution PH, where guests learned about the history of matcha and tried samples that were made live.

The Memory Game area also tested how much guests know about Japan and visitors also left short messages about their dream future Japan trip at the Freedom Wall.

3. Guests learned about amazing Japanese destinations from the exhibit’s co-presenters and got some amazing freebies

Visitors got a chance to learn more about Toyama and Okinawa’s best tourist attractions, delicacies, and cultural activities.

J. CLAIR Singapore also offered exciting information about other Japanese tourist locations like Nagano, Kochi, Hokkaido, and more in their designated area.

JR West did not just clue in guests on the best scenic routes to take while travelling in Japan but also prepared exciting giveaways and deals during the event.

Lucky participants were also able to take home freebies and tokens from participating event partners.
4. Performances by MNL48 and UP Tugma wowed the crowd

Local idol group MNL48 brought their eye-catching moves onstage and UP Tugma delivered unique performances using the koto (a type of Japanese zither) and shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute).

5. Visit Japan Pavilion won first runner-up in the Best Booth Category
The Visit Japan Pavilion team was awarded 1st Runner Up for the Best Booth Category.
The Visit Japan Pavilion also took home the 1st Runner Up award in the event's Best Booth Category.
