Tin Casting Art – Crafting Elegance in Tin and Copper

Step into the heart of Takaoka, where metalworking traditions have been passed down for more than four centuries, and discover a hands-on journey into tin craftsmanship at NOUSAKU At their contemporary facility, watch as artisans bring molten tin to life, and then try it for yourself at one of their hands-on workshops!  

 

Chopstick Rest

 

Families can choose a quick and fun 30-minute session to create chopstick rests shaped like animals or flowers or try a more in-depth 90-minute workshop to cast their own sake cup or small dish!

With the guidance of friendly staff, you’ll make your own mould and shape a keepsake that is uniquely yours.

Yamanaka Lacquerware – Painting with Time

Nestled in the Kaga-Yamanaka area—renowned for its exquisite lacquerware—Asada Shikki invites families to explore a traditional craft made to be used, cared for, and cherished over time. This long-standing workshop has lovingly passed down the refined techniques of Yamanaka Lacquerware for generations. 

 

 

At their hands-on painting experience, both children and adults can express their creativity and choose to decorate their own bowl or pair of chopsticks.
