Along with upcoming the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, Agency for Cultural Affairs and Japan Arts Council are proud to present broad range of cultural programs including art exhibitions, performing arts productions, and arts festivals that embody the beauty of Japan, from the ancient Jomon period to the current day. These events will be held nationwide throughout the year, all four seasons, under the theme of "the Japanese people and nature".
A vast variety of programs are now in preparation and the details will be announced.
The Ainu Together, Together with the Ainu
Introducing the wonders of Ainu culture at major airports and museums in the form of a relay exhibition throughout the year. One of the major will be held at the National Ainu Museum and Park (Upopoy) scheduled to open in April.

Craft 2020
Starting from late September until November 2020, Tokyo National Museum will display state-of-the-art handcraft works from traditional to contemporary. The Crafts and Food program, held in different areas nationwide, introduces local artists, crafts, and foods, and spotlights the functional beauty of crafts.
