The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum showcases a wide selection of contemporary Asian art. The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum is located in the Hakata Riverain building in the center of the city, immediately above the Nakasu-Kawabata subway station. From Tenjin or Hakata stations, take the Kuko Line and get out at Nakasu-Kawabata subway station.

The Fukuoka Asian Art Museum hosts a permanent collection of around 4,000 pieces. Museum organized collection and special exhibitions are expertly curated, usually focus on art from particular nations, a particular artist, or pan-Asian styles of art.

The museum is open all year, except for Wednesdays and the New Year period. The museum also has a residence program to foster contemporary Asian artists.
