The long wait is finally over. Yokoso! Japan Travel Blog is officially open today! Before introducing Japan, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in downtown Tokyo as an "Edokko". The word might not be familiar for even people who have studied Japanese. "Edokko" are people who are born in downtown Tokyo and whose family has lived there for at least 3 generations.
Tokyo is considered the most technologically advanced city in the world, but not downtown Tokyo. It has rich culture and history. But what makes downtown Tokyo different from the rest of Tokyo is its people, who are stubborn but warm-hearted. If you have a chance, please go to places like Asakusa and Shibamata and enjoy downtown Tokyo hospitality! As you know, Japan is more than "Last Samurai" and "The Memoir of a Geisha", but because of the distance from the US, it is hard for people to get information on Japan in general. My job here is to bring you everything about Japan: events, popular destinations, the latest trend, and so on. I will also give you useful travel tips for travelers. I hope this blog will help you to get to know Japan better and makes your trip to Japan more interesting!By the way, If you want to know "Edokko" better, please watch movies "Kikujiro" by Takeshi Kitano (available in English), or "Otoko Wa Tsuraiyo" by Yoji Yamada if you're comfortable watching movies in Japanese.
