I had a fantastic time exploring all the neighborhoods of Tokyo, immersing myself in the culture and enjoying the food.
Tokyo is a place of contrasts. The shopping in Ginza and Shibuya are world class. Meanwhile, the Japanese tea garden inside Shinjuku National Garden was beautiful and made for a nice contrast with the energy in the streets outside.
Our visit included Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Chiran gardens and Makurazaki. I enjoyed visiting all the sights, including the beautiful pottery and glass works in the factory showroom.
Here is a typical dinner, this one served to us at the Grandvrio Hotel, built in the middle of a golf course and with a statue of an elk on the fairway right below our window.
Izu's famous Jogasaki Coast I love going to museums, and one of the oldest and most well known in Ito is the Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art, which opened in 1975 and boasts an impressive collection of mostly Western artists, including Warhol, Picasso, Renior, Willem de Kooning, Miro, Kokoschka, Matisse, and Chagall.
