Recently I went Hokkaido to learn about tradition and culture of AINU.The highlight was learning three Koshiki Buyou (Ancient Dances) from dancers of Koshiki-Buyou Dan (Company), Ms. Takeko Kaizawa, Representative. It was arranged by and took place at SAPPORO PIRIKA KOTAN, Sapporo AINU Culture Promotion Center. During the trip I also had a profound experience to be acquainted with philosophy of AINU behind their life, observing their rituals and touring museum with a detailed guide. The inspirations from the trip will be culminated into a new dance to be premiered at our New York Season performance in 2008 spring.
