Entrance of Sage Theater I've been laughing ever since I can remember. When I was a kid I used to watch a television show on American TV called Laugh-In. With a cast of regular and irregular characters who threw one-liners and punch lines, told funny stories and made silly expressions and had me LOL.I've experienced Japanese comedy on Fujisankei television but never had a chance to see traditional players.
Lady in yukata (summer cotton kimono) with a chouchin (lantern). When I first saw Mr. Kasura Kaishi I could tell just by looking at him he was funny. By bringing his Rakugo "Sit-Down Comedy" troupe to share their stories and comic expressions to the Sage Theater in New York, Americans and people from other worlds had a chance to see what the Japanese have been laughing at for hundreds of years. On my next visit to Japan I plan to stop by Osaka again for more laughs. Rick G. More details about this event, click here.
