On Wednesday evening, we offered a travel seminar to the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) members at their regular dinner meeting in Boston. It was a Japan promotion night. My dependable boss, Mr. Tei, Japan Railways Group's veteran staff, John san and I offered carefully prepared our own power-point presentations to promote Japan as a tourist destination. We also offered door prize drawings as usual.
Mr. Tei, Ms. Maratea and John san. The event started almost 30 minutes late. Guess why? There was a night game of the Red Sox and that caused a heavy traffic jam! Now, two Japanese baseball players are doing very well on the Red Sox team. People in Boston are excited about their play. We shouldn't complain about the delay. Well, nobody left until the end of the event. Everybody was seriously watching beautiful Japanese videos we ran during dinner, and paid attention to our presentations. Truly, Tei san had to jokingly say, "Relax, it's just a pre-presentation. Please enjoy dinner." They even forgot to touch their food.
Mr. Tei's presentation about Japan It was a great night to introduce various aspects of Japan to active travel agents in Boston. Thank you John san for the excellent presentation! K. Maratea
