Booth with free Yokoso! Japan - Japan National Tourist Org. (JNTO) pocket tissues "Rakugo" Sit Down Comedy for the first time was performed in New York City to break the myth that Japanese have no sense of humor. Without standing up, a Rakugo comedian uses his body gesture such as eating Udon noodle, moving from room to room and even running and acts out multiple colorful characters to tell a comical story.
MC (American), entertainment performer, the three Rakugo performers and Rakugo team from Japan I had been curious how they would make American laugh through traditional Japanese humor before I saw the performance. Their witty and comical but not snobbish jokes grabbed the hearts of American audiences and gave us continuous laughter, putting aside my silly concern. After the show, my American friend said "I want to become a Rakugo comedian!" Yes! Laughter is universal.
