Condé Nast’s readers have spoken and Tokyo and Kyoto have been awarded the top spots on their annual Reader’s Choice Awards list for the Best Big Cities in the World. The competition was tough this year but Tokyo’s unique blend of ultra-modern and traditional culture as well as its top ranking in the world for cuisine, earned it the #1 spot. Kyoto’s rich, well preserved history and thriving art scene garnered it the #2 position.
