Nyuto Onsen-kyo
The natural hot springs sprinkled within the Towada Hachimantai National Park are nestled among the western foothills of Mt. Nyuto around its remarkably gorgeous, natural scenery. These hot springs were sought out by feudal lords over 350 years ago in search of restorative waters. Secluded within nature, only a few inns can be found deep in the mountains with spring water of various colors, ranging from milky white to colorless and clear. With local flavors, the inns of Nyuto Onsen-kyo provide fresh and local cuisine, and the hot springs are offered as mixed gender and gender segregated baths, open to both overnight guests and those making a day trip.
