Experience one of Japan’s most popular nature activities just outside Hiroshima
Hiroshima Prefecture
The Minochi River trekking experience in Oku-Yuki is an exciting addition to your visit to Hiroshima Prefecture, with its iconic Peace Memorial Park and the floating torii gate onf Miyajima.
Here, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of Japan’s mountains. The location is just outside Hiroshima, yet it’s like another world, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city.
On this river trek, you’ll be carried along by the Minochi River, floating on the water or clinging to a rockface as you climb a waterfall. Climbing up Mt. Omine, you’ll walk on soft ground and weave your way through vegetation to reach the summit. It’s an adventure that will make you feel one with the eEarth.
Depending on your interest and fitness level, you can choose the beginner course or intermediate course. The trek will take about three hours for beginners, or half a day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. including lunch time) for intermediate hikers who want to challenge themselves and truly encounter the beauty of nature.
You can rent swimwear and towels on-site, so participants are welcome to travel light. Just bring yourself (and your family and friends)!
