Those who love fresh seafood should head out to the Oshika Peninsula to experience the local culinary culture from sea to table. This area is known around Japan as an abundant fishing ground, blessed with a natural environment that sustains a wide variety of fish and other marine creatures.
Hop in a boat and join fishermen from Ishinomaki City as they go out to sea to find the catch of the day. As you pull up the nets, be sure to give thanks for the octopus, crabs, and fish that you have caught.
Once back on land, cook them yourself with the help of local top chefs, and sit down to enjoy savoring the fresh food together. Learn about the cyclical rhythms of life in Ishinomaki’s fishing areas through conversations and experiences with the locals, and how they are using unused and underutilized seafood that cannot be distributed to the market to make fishing more sustainable.
This tour includes transfers from Sendai Station to make your foodie adventure more convenient.
