A picturesque Japanese landscape garden in the heart of Hiroshima

Commissioned by the local feudal lord family in the Edo period, Shukkeien Garden is a picturesque Japanese landscape garden featuring a pond and a circular path around it. The garden is tastefully laid out with valleys, bridges, and teahouses, and different views can be enjoyed in each season.
How to get there
From Kansai International Airport, go to JR Shin-Osaka Station, then take the bullet train to JR Hiroshima Station. From Hiroshima Station, take a streetcar to Hatchibori, then take a Hakushima-bound streetcar to Shukkeien-mae. The garden is about a five-minute walk from there. The walk from Hiroshima Station is around 20 minutes.
