CHUBU Tajimi Catholic Church Japanese Name: カトリック多治見教会

Our church was established in 1930 as the central monastery in Japan with the purpose of developing our fellow members and carrying out monastic activity through Father Mohr, a German Catholic missionary and member of the Society of the Divine Word.

 

The church is decorated with beautiful stained glass windows and numerous frescoes and murals painted on the domed ceiling. Also, the grapes being cultivated in the vineyard on the premises are processed by a private company to produce the popular “Monastery Wine”.

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Schedule of Mass

Every second and fourth Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

English masses are available.

Chief priests are P. Ardy Hayon, SVD and P. Tonton, SVD

30 minutes by foot or 5 minutes by taxi from JR Tajimi station

A 15-minute walk from Benten-cho bus stop (Tohtetsu)
