About Katsuyama
The little castle town of Fukui used to serve as base of the Matsudaira clan. The capital city of Fukui prefecture is near the Sea of Japan and it is lined with mountains. The area boasts a couple of tourist attractions such as the Yokokan Garden, which was built as a villa of the Matsudaira family. There is also Cosmos Koen Garden where a hundred million cosmos flower bloom in fall. For the dinosaur buffs, visit to Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is a must and watch six hundred cherry trees create a tunnel by the Asuwa River.
