Awaji World Park ONOKORO is a theme park with attractions including a ferris wheel, carousel, and a thrilling zip-line adventure. ONOKORO also has an exhibition that displays 18 miniature replicas of famous landmarks around the world, including the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.

Observe the whirlpools via the Uzushio Cruise

 

You can explore the Naruto whirlpools up close from this hour-long Uzushio Cruise; it launches twice a day depending on the tides. With a diameter of up to 30m, the whirlpools are formed by the strong tides of the Pacific Ocean and Seto Inland Sea.*Depends on weather conditions

Explore the mysterious Tokushima

Ritsurin Garden is considered one of the most beautiful in Japan, built by the local feudal lords during the early Edo Period. This landscape garden consists of many ponds, hills, historic trees, and pavilions that paint a picture-postcard perfect view. Relax at a rest house or visit the folk museum.

Yashima

Discover the fascinating history of Yashima

 

Yashima is a flat-topped mountain just outside Takamatsu city with great views of the Inland Sea. Historically, it was the site of the battles during the Gempei War – learn more about its history at some of its attractions, including the Battle of Mashima monument and Chinoike (“blood pond”).

New Reoma World

New Reoma World is one of the largest amusement parks in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, and can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

 

Starting from go-karts to a ferris wheel, there are 22 attractions in the park, and parades featuring various original characters are performed regularly on scheduled days. In spring, flower related events are popular, such as the tulip festival, carpets of moss phlox and the rose festival where 100,000 roses will bloom. During summer, outdoor pools that are counted as some of the largest in the area will be open. Gokco Town where children get to experience several different jobs is very enjoyable, and also, you cannot miss the displays of 2,500,000 lights glistening at night that are also some of the largest in the area!

Takamatsu

Visit the port city of Takamatsu

 

Takamatsu is the capital city of Kagawa, home to attractions like the Ritsurin Koen (a Japanese-style garden) and Shikoku Mura (an open-air museum exhibiting traditional buildings and structures from ancient times). For modern conveniences, there's a covered shopping arcade at almost 3km long, and the seaside Sunport Takamatsu district.

Sanuki Udon

Treat yourself with yummy Sanuki Udon

 

Sanuki Udon is Takamatsu's most famous and popular dish, characterised by its firm and chewy texture, made possible by a special type of wheat that is traditionally grown in Kagawa Prefecture. Cheap and fast, this dish is commonly served cold with a dipping sauce or in a hot broth with toppings.

Gain hands-on experience in making jeans

 

Betty Smith is the first domestic manufacturer of ladies jeans in Japan. Visit the Betty Smith Jeans Museum where you can learn about the jeans-manufacturing process and get a hands-on experience in making your own customised pair of jeans! You can also purchase ready-made ones at the shop.

Kurashiki Bikan district Quarter Boat Tour

The Bikan Historical Quarter is considered Japan's most picturesque merchants' quarter, situated in the canal town of Kurashiki. The streets are lined with white-walled kominka (traditional homes) housing shops and museums, which you can explore on a boat tour along the picturesque willow-lined canal.

Okunoshima

Get acquainted with adorable rabbits

 

Okunoshima, or Rabbit Island, is one of the cutest places to visit in Japan. More than a thousand rabbits live on the island, so you'll bump into them literally wherever you go. You can also visit Okunoshima Poison Gas Factory, where you will learn the dark history of the island.

Takehara Preserved District

Gorgeously steeped in fascinating history

 

Takehara, also known as Little Kyoto of Hiroshima, is a preserved district lined with old buildings from the Edo, Meiji, Taisho and Showa eras. Take a leisurely stroll around or sample sake from Takehara's famous breweries. The traditional atmosphere is enhanced by old mercantile houses, temples, shrines and more.

Hiroshima Okonomimura

Enjoy delicious okonomiyaki at Hiroshima's Okonomimura

 

Okonomimura is a four-storey building in the Shintenchi district in downtown Hiroshima that is dedicated to serving varieties of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (known for its layering and use of noodles). There are more than 20 counter-seat style restaurants here, each boasting their own unique dish or atmosphere.

Be entertained while you shop

 

The Outlets Hiroshima has around 200 stores and restaurants, so you can shop til you drop. In addition to retailing goods from brands from Japan and around the world, the mall also has facilities like a cinema, indoor ice rink, and bowling alleys, so all generations can be entertained.
