Sixty Years of Friendship, More Stories to Unfold!

Explore 60 years of friendship and cultural dialogue between Singapore and Japan, and welcome a future of endless discoveries together.
In Japan, the 60th birthday is celebrated as kanreki, symbolising the beginning of a new chapter in life.

Singapore and Japan have worked closely together over the past six decades to weave a strong foundation of trust across people, cultures, and industries.
This enduring spirit of collaboration undergoes a rebirth and renewal in the theme for SJ60: "Co-imagine, Co-create, Co-evolve."

“One of my best experiences in Japan was magical cold winter in Hokkaido! Beyond the bustling cities, I visited Abashiri where I went ice-fishing on a frozen lake and took an ice-breaker cruise where the ship sailed through thick, icy waters! It was a magical side of Japan that was unlike any other and definitely a bucket-list experience!”

“I’ve experienced Japan through different stages of my life — as a student stretching every dollar, as a working adult with newfound freedom, and as a Singaporean couple looking for a refreshing escape. In every season, Japan has given me unforgettable memories. It’s a place that continues to surprise me, and one I’m always drawn back to explore again.”

“Japan has always been more than just a destination for me. What keeps me coming back are the moments with locals, the small, thoughtful interactions that show what omotenashi truly means. That made me realise that the real “hidden gems” aren’t places but the people you meet. That’s the side of Japan I keep returning for.”
