“Café Sanatorium” is located near Tenjin Subway Station, on the 3rd floor of a building. As the sign says “Wonder Museum Annex”, there are a lot of weird objects such as models of human anatomy, medical equipment and strangely decorated animal figures, creating a most unusual atmosphere. Waitresses are in old fashioned nurse costumes and food and drinks are served in medical instruments or containers. You can enjoy full-scale uniqueness. The most recommended item is a drink imitating barium meal. It is actually banana juice that you can choose with or without liquor.
The main occupation of the owner is that of a plastic artist and many of his works are displayed in this café. The owners main occupation is that of a plastic artist and many of his works are displayed in this café. The café is also used as a gallery, so you can fully enjoy not only a weird but also an artistic atmosphere. Unique souvenirs such as syringe-shaped ballpoint pens, containers, and the owner’s works are also available in the café. Since some displayed items and some staff are photography prohibited, please ask staff when you’d like to take a photo.
