The very cute “daifuku” (rice cake) is born when seasonal fruits meet this fluffy rice cake. A total of 15 flavors of daifuku are available: strawberry, banana, cherry, chocolate, “kyoho” grape, apricot, cheese, apple, Japanese plum, sweet potato, loquat, chestnut, persimmon, “himemomo” (green peach before mature) and kumquat. Some of these carefully selected fresh fruits are stewed in a sweet sauce and some are used in whole, depending on the fruits, then filled into the rice cake together with black and white bean paste. Each combination creates its own flavor and as they are bite size, it can be hard to stop eating. With all ingredients carefully selected and colored with fruits extract, their daifuku are all handmade. Because food preservatives are not used, strawberry, banana and cherry flavors are specialties you can only try at the shop. Enjoy the new Japanese sweets with seasonal aroma.
