On the riverside at one of Japan's top cherry blossom viewing spots

Up against some tough competition nationwide, the cherry blossoms along the Yamazaki River make this one of Japan's 100 best cherry blossom spots, and it's easy to see why.

Quick Facts

2.5 kilometers of 600 cherry trees bloom along the river

The Japan Cherry Blossom Association compiles the list of Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots

How to Get There

The best access to the riverside is via Mizuho Undojo Nishi Station, 20 minutes away from Nagoya Station on the Sakuradori subway line.

Pretty in pink

Considering some of the breathtaking views around the country, getting into Japan's top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots is no mean feat, but as soon as you arrive you'll understand how the Yamazaki River succeeded.

Strolling a 2.5 kilometer stretch of the Yamazaki River, you will find more than 600 beautiful cherry blossom trees, stretching out across the pathway and dipping their branches toward the river surface below.

A sight for four seasons

Although the riverside is at its peak popularity during the hanami season, it is a beautiful spot at any time of the year, as the name of the main promenade, the Shikinomichi or "Path of Four Seasons," suggests.
