Each year millions of LED lights illuminate the night at Mie prefecture’s Nagashima Resort with breathtaking scenes of natural landscapes and cultural highlights in Japan. The famed Nabana no Sato winter illumination draws millions of visitors to marvel at the different themed light displays but this year’s theme is extra special. This year will feature displays celebrating Kumamoto prefecture in an effort to aid with the reconstruction effort after a powerful earthquake struck the region in 2016. Donation boxes will also be placed throughout the park so visitors can assist with the recovery efforts.
