"Katsuura Big Hina Doll Festival" will be held from the 22nd of February to the 3rd of March 2019 in Katsuura, Chiba Prefecture, about 1.5 hours from Tokyo Station by the express train Wakashio. Some 30,000 "hina" dolls adorn the city until Hina Matsuri, the Girls Day Festival. At the popular Tomisaki Shrine, 1,800 dolls are arranged along its 60 stone steps and are illuminated after sunset, offering a fantastic sight.
