Hitome-senbon-zakura (a thousand cherry blossom trees at a glance) is located in the Tohoku region of northeast Japan, and selected as one of the 100 best Sakura spots in Japan. When it’s blooming, the train runs slowly along the river and you can enjoy the flowering trees from windows. (Of course, you can also walk under the trees.) It is easy to use the JR EAST PASS (Tohoku area) to access from Tokyo by Shinkansen (bullet train), and it only takes about an hour and a half.
