Why not pamper yourself by traveling on JR East's extra-comfortable Shinkansen GranClass service. First Class, called Granclass, is available on the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kanazawa, Aomori, Sendai and Niigata. It offers a tranquil and private space with only 18 roomy seats. In addition, it includes a separate lounge area at Tokyo Station and complimentary refreshments and beverage service while on board. Japan's Shinkansen trains are already famous among world travelers, but GranClass offers them a new, even higher level of service. With prior arrangement, we can arrange group travel and charter space for you on GranClass!
Escort service between Shinkansen platforms and car service or taxi when passengers arrive at a station or get off a train is now also available, a service we have added based on requests from travelers. We recommend this service for customers who are traveling to Japan for the first time or who need assistance in finding their way through stations. The escort will, of course, assist with luggage. This special service is available at main Shinkansen stations in eastern Japan and requires advance reservations.
