Anorisaki Lighthouse

Enjoy sea views and coastal strolls around Anorisaki

The rectangular Anorisaki Lighthouse stands atop Cape Anorisaki, overlooking Matoya Bay and the rough Kumanonada Sea beyond. On clear winter days, you may even be able to see as far as Mount Fuji. The area surrounding Anorisaki Lighthouse is ideal for walking and picnicking. A 16-kilometer nature trail begins at the lighthouse and winds its way along the coast to Daiosaki Lighthouse at the southeast end of the Shima Peninsula.

Near Anorisaki Lighthouse, there is a stage for Anori Bunraku, a type of traditional Japanese puppet theater. Anori Bunraku is designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. If you are visiting in winter, local restaurants serve freshly-caught Anori fugu (blowfish). The lighthouse is open throughout the year.
