Family friendly forest camping
Surrounded by a forest teeming with rare birds and situated close to Japan’s deepest crater lake, Miike Camp Village is the place to come for clean air, rich greenery, crystal-clear waters and excellent fishing. Bring your own tent, or choose from cottages, bungalows, or pre-pitched tents. Two of the forest cabins are also wheelchair accessible.
Head deeper into the forest to catch a glimpse of the rare varieties of flycatcher birds that make these woods famous, or take a short walk to the deep waters of Miike Crater Lake to catch some carp or rainbow trout. In summer, make a splash in the water plaza, a collection of family friendly water features designed to help you escape the heat. The site is open daily from March to October, although staff are absent on Thursdays.
