Tohoku's largest fireworks extravaganza is also a national competition

Witness breathtaking fireworks explode above accompanied by stories and music, which brings the show of light and sound together in a friendly festival setting at the end of August in the Daisen area. Pyrotechnicians compete for the Prime Minister's Prize.

How to Get There

Omagari Station is accessible via the Akita Shinkansen, Ou Main Line, and Tazawako Line, followed by a walk or bus or taxi ride.

The venue is clearly signposted from Omagari Station. On foot from the station takes about 30 minutes . If you wish to go by car, please be aware that there are a limited number of parking spaces.

Compete for the champion

With more than 700,000 spectators each year, this spectacular,fireworks display doubles as Japan's National Firework Competition. Pyrotechnicians from across the country come to compete to be Champion of the Fireworks.
