Just a short distance from the historic town of Gujo Hachiman lies Gujo City: a hidden satoyama, a landscape where people and nature live in harmony.

Join a private e-bike journey to experience this region not as a tourist, but as a local. Pedal through rice fields, along clear rivers, and past traditional workshops, discovering how daily life is shaped by the blessings of water and land.

Meet local farmers, visit a tofu maker who uses mountain spring water, and step inside a historic sake brewery. Along the way, enjoy hands-on culinary experiences such as making local sushi, savoring seasonal dishes, or pairing sake with regional cuisine.

Stay overnight in a private riverside villa by the Kurisu River, where you can relax in a sauna, gaze at the starlit sky, or gather around a campfire.

This bike tour also traces the legacy of To Tsuneyori, a 15th-century warlord and poet who cultivated an aesthetic of beauty in harmony with nature. This spirit lives on today in Gujo’s community traditions, poetry, and conservation efforts.

More than sightseeing, this is an immersion into rural Japan’s culture. Sustainability and beauty come alive through encounters and timeless landscapes, inviting you to discover your own Gujo.
