Iwate | Hachimantai Snow Corridor

The longest Snow Corridor of Japan located in Hachimantai

The Hachimantai Snow Corridor is a stretch of road flanked by sheer walls of snow. At 27km, it’s the longest of its kind in Japan, and the walls measure up to 8 meters high in some spots! The corridor road passes close to Mt. Hachimantai’s summit, where you can park and take a stroll; perhaps some photos with the snow walls as your backdrop? The walls remain well into spring, allowing you to even enjoy them at the same time as the blooming sakura blossoms. It’s a unique visual that you can only see between April and May!
