A healing moment surrounded by azaleas in full bloom - Visit the Tenno Shrine Azalea Festival The azalea is the well-known flower of Shichinohe Town. At Tenno-jinja Shrine, about 500 mountain azaleas bloom in spring, decorating the shrine grounds. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery from various angles, such as walking through the azalea tunnels and viewing the beautiful scenery from the observatory in Kashiwaba Park (the ruins of Shichinohe Castle, a national historic site).
The Shichinohe Spring Festival is held during the blooming season, and the Tenno Azalea Festival is also held at Tenno Shrine. The precincts of the shrine are decorated with ema lanterns and tanka poems, and the fantastic lighting up of the shrine at night is an attraction. There are also a variety of interlocking projects and events.
