The Full June Bloom is Coming Soon to Chiba’s Hydrangea Temple An estimated 50,000 hydrangeas are soon expected to be in full bloom at Chiba's Hondo-ji Temple! This temple is a bit of a hidden gem, but it's easily accessible from Tokyo, found just across the border in Chiba’s Matsudo City. To get here, it’s just about a 10-minute walk from Kita-Kogane Station on the JR Joban Line.
A water garden of irises also blooms here during this season, letting you enjoy two stunning flower displays side-by-side on the temple grounds. If you’re looking for a Tokyo-area day-trip this June, this temple with over 700 years of history is a great place to start.
