Aizuwakamatsu's Tsuruga Castle Blossoms in Spring

Tsuruga Castle is one of Fukushima Prefecture's most iconic sights, boasting the sole red-brick castle tower in Japan. In spring around 1,000 Yoshino cherry blossoms bloom here, and the area has been chosen as one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots. The best time to see the cherry blossoms around Tsuruga Castle is from mid to late April!

From April 1 to May 6 the area is illuminated at night, letting you enjoy beautiful nighttime cherry blossoms! Be sure to visit during this season to enjoy the grandiose castle full of history amidst this stunning pink backdrop.
