Centuries-Old Festival Lights up Downtown Hiroshima from November 18!

The “Ebisutaisai” (Ebisu Grand Festival) at Ebisu Shrine in Naka Ward, Hiroshima City, has been celebrated for over 420 years, praying for business prosperity. It is one of Hiroshima’s three major festivals, alongside the Tokasantaisai (Tokasan Grand Festival) in June and the Sumiyoshi Festival in July.

Around the shrine, “Komazarae” (lucky bamboo rakes) are sold, drawing many visitors. During the festival, “Ebessan” will be held with an evening kagura performance and a taiko drum performance on a pedestrian-only street in downtown Hiroshima.

Festival Dates:
Ebisutaisai: November 18–20, 2025
Ebessan: November 20, 2025
